This is a picture of Sarah who lives in Kampala in Uganda. She owns her own house that doesn't have piped water. Her family does have access to electricity.
She has four children and they all attend school. She also takes care of her sister.
Sarah has been working 7 days a week for the past 7 years selling charcoal at the local market. One of her major business challenges is thieves.
This woman has hopes and dreams. Her aspiration is to build rental homes and become a wholesaler of charcoal.
Her story inspired me. So I have assisted her with a loan through Kiva which will ensure she has the ability to increase her charcoal stocks. Hopefully this will help her to move closer to realising her goals.
